Ryan Levy and Ian Eastveld are Sommeliers, Winemakers, Wine Educators, and Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs. The Urban Winery is open by appointment and exclusively available for private group tastings and events. Located in vibrant midtown the Urban Winery combines the culture and sophistication of Solaro wines with an International metropolitan environment. Among the wines tasted were International Double Gold, Best of Class and Texas Class Champion- 2011 Estate Barrel Reserve Barbera, International Gold winning Chenin Blanc and barrel aged Port. The event featured wine vintages from the Solaro Collection Texas. The pre-opening included consultation with wine writer Roger Beery of Bacchus and Beery and interviews were conducted by members of the wine media including Russ Kane, author of The Wine Slinger Chronicles. Also in attendance were wine reporters such as Jeff Cope, Editor of Texas Wine Lover and Denman Moody author of “The Advanced Oenophileâ€. The wine dedicated facility also encompasses winery offices, a private conference room, cold case storage, catering kitchen and audio-visual capability for wine related classes and seminars.Įvent guests included members and connoisseurs familiar with Solaro wines. Beneath 24 feet of brilliant vaulted ceiling, views into the glass enclosed wine cellar and production areas feature custom stainless tankage and racked French oak. Wines were enjoyed in the sparkling new Urban Winery which offers two main Tasting Rooms, granite service bars and private bar seating. The Solaro Estate Urban Winery Houston premier event, this past weekend, was a stunning success.
